We’ve rolled out standardized incoming inspection rules for plastic injection molded parts for our circular connector products. Insulators, housing assemblies, module brackets and guide sleeves — these plastic components are essential for our MIL-DTL-38999 connector series. Strict incoming checks help us lock in consistent quality right from the start of production.
Our QC team runs a full range of tests on every batch of incoming parts. Visual checks under magnifiers are done first, to spot surface scratches, contamination or molding defects. Then dimensional measurements follow. We use micrometers, profile projectors and GO/NO-GO gauges to verify critical sizes, making sure all parts match the drawing tolerances.
For metal contact pins and sockets, inspection covers far more than just appearance. Our lab carries out plating thickness testing with XRF equipment, checking gold and nickel barrier layer thickness. We also run adhesion tests on plating layers, to stop peeling or flaking later in service. Electrical performance checks include contact resistance measurement with 4-wire Kelvin method. Mechanical tests cover contact retention, insertion and withdrawal force, spring load and crimp pull force.
Environmental testing forms another key part of our quality system. Selected samples go through solderability testing and salt spray corrosion tests. These assessments confirm that our raw components hold up in harsh environments, the same working conditions our end users face.
We separate test items into Class A critical features and Class B major features. Class A items get 100% full inspection, while Class B tests follow GB/T 2828.1 sampling standard. Any non-conforming parts will be rejected directly and will not flow into assembly.
